3050 Series Minimal Headloss Static Mixers are designed for applications where very little head loss is available, or pressure drop is permissable, in the system..
Examples are;
- retrofitting a mixer into an existing system;
- where reduced pumping energy is desirable
Our standard Series 2800 wafer-style mixer creates turbulene through pressure diferentials. To further reduce headloss, our Series 3050 Minimal Headloss Mixers do not create turbulenece through pressure differentials but by creating vortices..
The design of the fins in the 3050 Series Minimal Headloss Static Mixer has been insipired by studying the vortex formation at the wing tips of F18 fighter jets. The fins in the mixer are shaped to generate vortices that grow and intersect to provide turbulence with minimal very low headloss.
These 3050 Series Minimal Headloss Static Mixers are built into a piping spool to match your site piping system, and are available in one, two or three stage configurations as follows:
- Single stage Series 3050 Static Mixer. This has one row of four "fins" to create the mixing at the lowest headloss static mixer. k-Value is 0.58 and the CoV is .057.
- Double stage Series 3050 Static Mixer. This has two rows of four "fins" to crreate more mixing with a little more headloss than the single stage static mixer. k-Value is 1.13 and the CoV is .026.
- Triple stage Series 3050 Static Mixer. This has three rows of four "fins" to create more mixing with a little more headloss than both the single and double stage static mixers. k-Value is 1.64 and the CoV is .014.
The advantages are:
- Mixes well with minimal, or very low, headloss
- Choice of three levels of mixing with three levels of headloss by choosing number of rows of four "fins" - single, double, or triple stage
- High performance mixing - CoV of .057 or better
- Published headloss - kV of 1.64 or better
- Dramatically improves mixing when available headloss is very low
- Choice of flange connections
- Ports to connect to chemical injection assemblies are built in to the mixer. Unless otherwise specified
- Short laying length - just one diameter per stage
- Resistant to fouling and ragging
- Long service life
- No maintenance
- Energy saving when compared with other static mixers
- Sustainable - reduced maintenance or energy costs
- Easy to clean
- CFD reports available
- White Papers available
